"I believe in music, the same way some people believe in fairytales." -August Rush It was the 80's. New Order's Shellshock was blaring in the background while Crispa and Toyota were exchanging hoops, Fiction Factory's Feels like Heaven was a staple at MV2, and Nick Heyward's vid for Blue hat for a blue day aired while a TV channel was doing a test broadcast. Near the end of the FM frequencies, there was an obscure radio Station called WXB 102 that was trying to be cool without even touching Spandau Ballet and Duran Duran. It was the best time to be a record collector...so we made a go. My first cassette was A-ha's Hunting High and Low, Ronald's was Depeche Mode's Singles 81-85, and Peter bought Madonna's Like a Virgin. Later we realized that even after being exposed to the same music, we began to have our own particular favorites. I was into XTC, David Sylvian and The Ocean Blue. Ronald adored Adrian Borland, The Sound and The Chameleons, and Peter was more of a Cure/Smiths/Morrissey type. As the years passed, we moved from cassette, to Vinyl and now to CD's in a cycle dictated by technology, and the size of our allowances, and later our salaries. Music itself was changing, and we evolved with it to 90's Britpop, Indie, Breakbeats, Downtempo, Ambient, Bossa, etc. I guess it was our unspoken credo; that good music isn't defined by genre, but by a pair of good ears. That is why we go back to Sarah Vaughan, Van Morrisson, Tim and Jeff Buckley, and Dusty Springfield on occasions. One thing is for sure, we won't go into illegal mp3's. So all the titles we'll upload on this site come from our record collection, which are all legitimate releases btw. We love music so much we figure we owe our idols their respective royalties. So if you find a particular song here you like, don't stop at downloading it. Go out and buy the record. Anyway, some things never change. We're still collecting records, Mine's 450 and counting, Ronald has an entire wall to fill, and Peter can't figure out how to catalog an entire room of CDs...but hey, just like the old days, he still listens to Madonna.
